It's that time of year again when the super-awesome Panos T gathers forth the Pantheon of the Mashie Gods and releases the Mash Kraken upon the world - yes, it's time once more for Mash of the Titans!

Featuring 19 tracks from some of the world's greatest mashup producers (last time I checked, we had a good couple of million plays on Last FM between us, let alone on Soundcloud, Youtube, etc.). the album is now available to download c/o my good mates at themashupradio.com, and it's a BANGER of an album!

Full Moon

And the 2nd of tonight's posts, and the one that's from the heart.

Ever since I were a little lad, I'd look up at the sky and wish I was up there flying around on a rocketship exploring for love and adventure. There's a reason I did Astrophysics at University, you know...

So, inspired by and in tribute to the beautiful full moon of last week that lit the Mash Cave wonderfully, here's my semi-autobiographical mash to the big shiny thing in the sky that hypnotises so many of us.

Well here's a thing; I've barely made a thing all year and then from nowhere, you'll have a trio of Colatron good-time fun tracks coming your way in the next fortnight, with 2 tonight alone! I'm the proverbial bus of the mashup landscape.

So first up; it's an honour and privilege to be asked by the fantastic Tiger Mendoza to contribute to their new remix album of the release Monsters & Miracles. Ian Tiger was back on the boards in the day of GYBO and I've always been a fan, so not being a remixer by any stretch of the imagination, I took the easy option and mashed it instead :)

Picking the emotionally swooping track Mellotron (I've had the instrumental on my PC for the last couple of years and had always meant to do something with it and who could resist anything with the word 'tron' in the title - not I!), I decided to go with something that I think Ian would like (judging by whom he follows on Soundcloud!) - my beloved Ghostpoet. With a hint of Bon Iver and a touch of Penguin Prison for good measure. I gave him - MellowTron.

You know, it struck me recently I'm apparently coming to the end of the Cola-journey. I seem to be completely out of ideas and I have little to no inspiration right now.

So what to do? Kill off Colatron and begin over a-new as Colatron. Think of this as a message to myself. The Death of Colatron.

Something quick and easy from me Cola-fans, to warm you all up for the Springtime.

No apologies for me using my beloved Ellie Goulding again; there's a reason why she won a Brit award this week (she's FAB!). And certainly no apologies for using Speech Debelle - if you don't know her amazing body of work, please do go seek her out - again, there's a reason she won the Mercury Music Award a few years back (and did very well on Celebrity Masterchef too as I recall).

COMA: Cinematic Orchestra Mashup Album

So after 8 months work, it gives me great pleasure to post this - possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever had the pleasure and good fortune to be involved with.

Following the fun and success of last year's BIMA: Bon Iver Mashup Album , my good friend SpareElbowSkin had the excellent idea to produce a sequel of sorts, this time based upon our shared love of the magnificent Cinematic Orchestra.

If you're not familiar (pun intended) with their amazing, lush and shimmering body of work, I strongly recommend you seek out their discography asap!

So, available in two formats:

Firstly, the way the album is intended for listening pleasure - a full-length continuous mix format with additional ambience, intro and outro. Perfect for listening in a semi-lit room over the headphones, with a glass of red and the wind and rain coming down outside.
